"Hello all, I'm Mike and I'm a BMW X5 owner."
"HI MIKE!" I just found this board...very nice! I've been a member of the Roadfly board for a couple years, having owned an Oxford Green/Montana Sand '98 528iA in the past. I just bought a lightly-used '02 X5 4.4i in Steel Grey over Grey Leather with darn near everything, including several cool BMW OEM accessories (entertainment system, aluminum running boards, grille guard and hood air deflector). It has 12k miles and is a (non-Bangled) beauty! My wife and I are car nuts. She drives an '00 Audi S4 6m that is a bona fide road rocket, and I sold a 2001 A6 2.7T 6m last month to acquire the X5, which I found at Richmond (VA) BMW. We've owned several fun cars, including a Buick GN, a Camaro SS, a Volvo S70 T5, some 5.0 Mustangs, three Probe GTs, a couple RX7s, a M-B ML430, and an A4 2.8q. We enjoy cars of all types. She's got her eyes on the new V8 S4 in Bright Red. I'm an information technology manager for a mid-atlantic-based energy giant and live in WV about 2-3 hours from anything fun. We enjoy anything car, computer, people or food-related! I look forward to becoming a regular reader/contributor.

Welcome aboard Mike!
West Virginia? Do they even have BMW dealerships? Ha ha ha I am joking only because I actually grew up in West Virginia when my dad worked for a large chemical company. We were transferred there for about five years before heading out to California again. Post some pics of the X5!

The best part of it all is, with a mere $700 investment, it can be chipped from 250hp to 320hp on 93 octane (easily found here in WV for $1.599 a gallon). It is one of the best cars I've ever owned. My A6 2.7T was nice, and the extra space made it very useful, but for pure driving pleasure and excitement (and utility and all-season traction) nothing else came close. Thanks for asking!
