trunk locked

I'm on a trip with 4 people and luggage and the trunk will not open.
Could be a blown fuse since it doesn't make the solenoid noise when you
press the trunk unlock button on the key fob. But the key will not open it either.
Anyone have a guess? It will be a long trip back home tomorrow with suit cases
on our laps.

Wow, that sucks. Yes, I'd check the fuse. If you have fold down seats with the ski bag, you can reach thru and release the seat backs and once inside the trunk you can pull the emergency release to get it open. It sounds like the key does not release a cable but is electrically controlled.

Are you sure no one has pressed the trunk lock over ride button inside the glovebox?

Feel pretty dumb, yes it was the trunk over ride switch in the glove box. I didn't know it existed. My wife must have bumped it when putting something in the glove box.
Thanks Tgray5

Even with the glove box switch in the lock position, shouldn't the key in the trunk's exterior lock have opened it? That method doesn't use the solenoid and should always unlock the trunk. After all, it's the same key that unlocks the glove box to get to the lock switch anyway.

I can't even get the key to turn in the trunk. I've flipped the glove box trunk switch to both # 1 and # 2 positions and with the key in the trunk, it will turn a bit but then there's a stopping point where it makes me feel like the key will break in the lock if I turn more.

Anyone else can't open their e92 trunk with the physical key? And what was the solution?

The standard answer is to turn HARDER. It will open.

FYI, you have to turn the key counterclockwise to open the lock. Turning it clockwise would make it seem especially difficult.

Even when you're turning it the correct direction, it's easier to open with a keyring on the metal key -- it gives you a larger "handle" to generate turning force.

Yeah, I left myself open for that one.

I'll pick my card back up for next weekend.
Hopefully my trunk release doesn't malfunction between now & then...
