Front License Plate?

I live in Georgia and will be bringing my plate with me for my May 27th pickup. Georgia does not require a front plate. Anything I need to do to ensure that no front plate holder is placed on my car at the Performance Center?

I just picked up my car last week and asked my SA to send a note PDC to let them know that no front bracket be put on the car. They told me when I was there that they do not put the bracket on unless they are asked to do so.

So you shouldn't have to worry..

Enjoy

When I took delivery at PCD in April they asked if I wanted it installed. Otherwise it was in the cargo area. So my guess is you will be OK.
Normally you would be able to pose the question to Jonathan from the PC, but I believe he is currently out at Bimmerfest.

The PC left my front backet in the trunk without having to ask.

Depends on the car. You have to order a 7 Series with the "smooth" front bumper, otherwise you get the bumper with the plate holder. You can replace the section with the plate holder with a smooth section for about $90 + painting however.

Z 4's have a different type of front plate holder which can either be mounted or left off for later use if required.

Let me assure you...there is no front plate installed at the Performance Center unless you are standing there pointing at the mounting holes after we have asked you twice if you REALLY want it installed! :-)

Very cool! It's good to know that BMW understands what drivers want in the details.

How about if I do an ED pickup before re-delivery at PCD. Will Munich install the U.S. front plate bracket or is there a way to delete it on my order (like option 326 on a M3 to delete the rear spoiler lip)? I had heard Munich is now using double back tape to attach the front Zoll plate vs a U.S. Bracket with the Zoll plate attached to it, correct?

You would serve yourself best to contact European Delivery directly and ask for that. I have seen both and have been told from some ED customer's that took re-delivery at the PCD that they requested to have the tape used instead of the US bracket.

If it is not on the vehicle when it arrives at the Performance Center, it will not be put on until you are standing with the vehicle telling us to do so.

I would never get a front license plate on any of my cars, why would I let someone drill holes in my front bumper. it is however required by illinois law that cars have front license plates, but I do not have one on my car. I do though have one in the backseat pocket and when I get pulled over for it (rarely) I say I just got the car and i need to get holes drilled in my bumper for the plate, because it only holds german plates. Never got a ticket.
