Thumbs up Should I take the plunge on 2008 M5?

Ok I have had a 98 540, 02 540, 06 550 (ED). mY 550 Lease ends in 2 months. My wife has cleared me to purchase my next weekday car. I have Porsche 911 Turbo for weekends.

Should I take the plunge for a 2008 Monaco Blue M5 with .9 % financing? Should I wait for the new 2009 M5s. Will they be different?

What would you do?

Gas is not a major concern as I have a 550.

Shop around and you can get $15,000 off the MSRP on a 2008. 2009 will have the new hard disc based nav system with totally new idrive. It is very cool, and makes the current system look like a museum piece. Check out M5board for details.

The question is, with the financing and discounts you can get on a 2008, is that nifty new idrive worth $15,000 - $20,000? Not in my book, but you might feel differently.

Not sure what you mean by gas. However, you do know the m5 will burn nearly twice as much gas as a 550 right? That is quite a guzzler for a daily driver.

If the MPG does not matter to you go for it.
