How hazy were your headlights?...

For those of you who have had your headlamps replaced due to haze by the dealer, how hazy were they when the dealer replaced them for you?

Mine look clear from the front but as you move to the side there is a little haze on the surface of the lens. Im pretty much thinking any SA I tell this to is going to call me crazy, but maybe not. I've seen some really hazy ones out there though.

Oh ok, I will probably wait then. I get concerned that issues like this might make the dealership think Im freeloading or something and they won't pay attention to me next time.

Then again, they get paid by BMW no matter what so... who knows.

You're right, that sounds like a total pain in the a$$. I'm not going to bother with it.

what's the worst that can happen?

I will be trying to change my headlights before warranty is over, no haze but just stone chips on them. I will try to get the SA on a good day.

my driver side headlight was real bad compared to the passenger side. i told the service manager that the haze is effecting light output at night and i feel unsafe driving ( which is completly true, the hazy headlights do effect light output.) here are some pics of the new headlights

Here's how mine look right now, left is a tad bit hazier than the right, but probably not even worth bothering...

Tell them they turn foggy when you drive in rain storms too. I tried it but they said unless they can see "standing" water foggy was acceptable. Maybe you'll have more luck than I did

hmmm....intresting. when i first got my car, which was about a week ago. it was raining but not pouring, very light drizzle when i drove it from the dealership. when i got home i walked around the car to see gaze at her beauty, i notice condensation inside the headlight housing. but it went away after a few hours. thought nothing of it at the time since it went away. but now that im thinking back, that shouldnt happen right? should i bring it into the dealership next time this happen?

They will most likely tell you as they told me slight condensation is ok as they are not a "sealed" beam but standing water is BAD and they will replace them.
