Thats pretty much general knowledge by now, the iPhone was way behind on 3G functionality. My old Treo 750 on Sprint still gets the job done for me though, and the Phone as Modem on 3G is invaluable when traveling in remote locations.

I personally have been waiting for the V.2 to come out - my "Dingleberry" has Edge and I'm not impressed. 3G is much "more gooder".

Price is right too!

yeah & cheaper too! For those who have the 2G iPhone & want/need to upgrade to the 3G, good luck selling your phones! You'll be better off keeping it or giving it to a spouse/girlfriend /family member. I for one plan on holding on to mine...unless The Wifes' phone breaks.

ATT and 3G both suck. I just switched to sprints 3G EVDO, and it's WAY faster than my old Tilt on 3G and my iPhone was just a joke.. pretty much another iPod since the phone barely works..

Update: New 3G plan includes an unlimited 3G data plan costing $30/month. This is an increase from the current $20/month unlimited EDGE data plan for the 1st generation iPhone. Voice plans continue to start at $39.99, but no additional details are provided.
That Crackberry Bold or Thunder is starting to look better.

eruni-

you helped me out w/ my tilt a ways back, and i'd have to say that my Sprint Curve, is just as fast if not faster than my tilt! Maybe it has to do with WinMo, vs. BB's OS which is 100x's more stable.. also the battery life really sucked on my Tilt..

and what about the iPod touch?? It's really overpriced. Can you buy an iPhone and use it without subscribing to AT&T or activating??

I would venture a guess and say no, they've probably seen that angle. Why pay a hundred more for the iTouch when you could just buy this one and not activate. I can't imagine the device would do too much without an activation. Only one way to find out though.

BB are always connected to the internet and at very fast speeds.
I browse this forum from my BB daily, gotta luv it.

I use Opera on it and I disable images for faster loading times.
