Although dealing with a crazy internet connection... To satisfy sacred requirements, I am abiding by the 12 hour rule after an eventful day...

Thanks guys

Some more for your further enjoyment...

The Candy Store

Our little sweet treat

Maybe this is her better side?

At ADAC (German equiv od AAA) to pick up vignettes and parking disk. Got my BMW vests at the Welt giftshop

On the road... A95 on our way to Austria. 140 mph for a minute or so, but we cruised nicely at 100 to 120 mph. At that speed the car feels great and wants to go! My comment when we reached the end of the Autobahn... It's over already??? It doesn't last long at these speeds.

A little stop along the way...

Trafoi, at the base of the Stelvio. Finally here!

At the top! My poor Mrs. Poc looking a little pale. What a trooper! Next time I'll bring my 9 year old... "Daddy, go faster... YES... make the tires scream again!" Let's just say that if the Stelvio is a spaghetti draped on an Alp, my wife added a little sauce

The Stelvio... Mrs. Poc was really a trooper. After a day of twisties driving without complaint, at Tornante No. 41 she started to feel a little off... Then she asked me what No. 40 meant and I had to tell her! Count Down Baby!

At the top! Some nice fellows dowing the Transalpina Rally behind me.

Will post more

OK, you've got the award for the wittiest title of the year.

That would actually be the translation of "cogito ergo zoom"

I gotta tell ya, that pic of the Stelvio would have been the best picture of all time on the ED thread...if your car had been drifting that uphill hairpin seen about a third of the way down. Just an awesome thing to even imagine.
Cancel that. It would have been the best picture of all time on ANY thread. I would have paid to see it. No, I would have bought the rights to it and claimed it as my own.

I made the mistake of showing your pic of the switchbacks to my bride-to-be. I on the other hand, can't wait!

Looks like you had a great trip; really getting my mouth watering for my pickup in a little more than a month from now.

Thanks again guys

The photo of the Stelvio would have indeed been priceless if I was in it with my car drifting around a hairpin, a little spark of light gleaming through the open sunroof off my big smile. I thought of leaving my dear wife up top and going back down for another run, but love and compassion prevented my selfless thoughts to wonder further Next time... and again, I shall choose my victim more carefully.

To her credit and with the help of Dramamine equivalent, Mrs. Poc did far better yesterday and her snores actually complimenting the vroom vroom of the engine as I was twisting myself down the Maloggia.

The trip so far has been incredible. Last night the first hiccup with the reservation at the hotel in Cadenabbia... They were overbooked and gave me a series of lame excuses. Tripadvisor entry will follow. Drove down to Cernobbio and now at eh Miralago with a fabulous view of the lake. Will take the Vaporetto up the lake today and visit Bellagio, Comacina Etc.

Yesterday's Pictures...

Waking up in Bormio;

Our Hotel... A great place!

Our new ride... A great ride

Had to drop by a Farmacia to grab "Dramamine." The ceiling was pretty cool

La Piazetta in Bormio. The previous evening we had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant at the top. Will share pictures another time

A dirty car!

On our way to Livignio... Just spectacular!

Mrs. Poc was feeling much better

The village of Trepalle... Fertility rates are high!

I think I may be in love!

More follows...

A few more...

One word... GO!

Above the Maloggia... What a ride!

A great drive to Lake Como. Photo in Varenna. Yes, I know... the car is parked the wrong way. It's okay, we're in Italy!

It was drizzly, but we still explored all of Varenna, including the old part. What fun!

You had to take a picture every two seconds.

Another picture of the car Waiting for the Traghetto to Menaggio.

Self explanatory...

A tight squeeze... The guy in the Mercedes next to me was a little nervous!

Varenna...

Menaggio.

Hotel Miralago in Cernobbio.

On our way to dinner... Ended up with a great view of Bellagio, Argenio and Comacina.

Parked at il Crotto dei Platani in Brienno. Yes, Crotto is spelled that way in the local dialect. The dining area hangs over the lake and the view was spectacular.

Back safely in the Hotel's Garage. Let me hint that the drive back was spirited! What a car

View from our room...

Cernobbio this morning.

Yesterday was fabulous! Little if any driving today but it should still be fun
