All ya all make me envious. I'm just at 18K after a little over three years (07 purchased new - 90 miles in Sept. '08, gotta love some benefits of the economic down-turn). Looking forward to many more.

No. With all of my driving I would be under the X3 all the time!

I change engine oil every 7500 miles.

Changed transfer case, diffs around 70k miles.

Changed trans fluid at 100k. Flushed out PS fluid at 80k.

Brake fluid every 2 years. Coolant to be changed this spring.

A lot of extra wear occurs with constant start/stop. Mine is highway driving so my belief (hope) is it will be fine.

Fluids looked decent at those mileages.

Given that I always walk when I play golf, play twice per week and each round is at least 5 miles, I can say with confidence that I have walked more than 1,500 miles in the last three years. Well shy of the 18K on the vehicle.

+1. I do mostly highway with some suburban driving, hence I've been extending my oil change interval. I looked the oil @ 13.000km (8000mi) and it was in pretty good shape, so I'm thinking of moving to longer intervals like 15.000km (9k miles), although that puts me in an odd spot with the Service counter.

10,000 miles...finally

It had to happen eventually.

No major disasters. Two oil changes under the low mileage maintenance program.

Will consider extending the mechanical warranty for 3 years/70,000 miles for $3K next year at the end of the original warranty. Do not know if I would need it with such low mileage.

Welcome to the 2009 50k mile club! Nice to see I am not the only one.

One month almost 4,000 miles more...

As I posted earlier 170K and for the most part it's been a good vehicle. I've had the usual breakdowns that are common to theses. Busted sunroof, replaced the transfer box, instrument cluster, water pump, 2 sets of brakes & rotors, oil filter hsg. leak. I'm hoping to get 300k, still rides like new.

I remember a fellow super commuter about 8 months ago posted in this thread breaking 200k in a 2005 with no major issues. I haven't seem his posts in awhile.

From experience 200k is the super commuter equivilant of 100k for most. Repairs start being frequent at that point because you got milage most folks never get plus you hit age limits that non drivers get to. It's a double whammy. I have gotten 300k reliably on a commuter before but that last 100k was me doing maintenance monthly. I was Napa's best customer.

At 112000 now! Still drives great!

Thrust arm bushings replaced just out of warranty. Probably need new ball joints within 1 year.

I have a slight leak on rear window washer line. Will fix in spring.

Er, that would be 10,000 miles in 2 1/2 years. I have alternate forms of transportation and I live in a very convenient area.

Wow! Sounds great!

I am getting mad at mine lately. Spent $800+ on thrust arm bushings in October. Now I have a leaky vapor barrier on driver's side rear door. $270 to repair. Seat heater went bad on driver's seat - almost burned through. $1400 if I want it fixed! I guess cold buns for me!

Sorry to get off track - just venting!

I constantly get annoyed at how thirsty the X3 is especially in suburban and urban driving. I keep track of my expenses, and I spend more on fuel than groceries + eating out combined!

The long-term average is in my signature; In the suburban driving I consume around 11-12l/100km (19-21 US mpg give or take) but really, I wished it consumed about 30% less. I love racking up reliable miles- 120.800mi or 194.400km, but that means racking up fuel too.

I need a diesel vehicle.
