2006 X3 3.0 Sport picked up at the end of 2006 - about 65,500 miles now and 19.3 mpg over the life of the vehicle.

Right behind you, Wallace. 2006 X3 bought in 2009 on CPO. Just hit 64,000 miles and getting right around 19mpg.

Aside from a burned out headlight, no real repairs. Just got done with Inspection II service -leaky gasket replaced under CPO.

I'm pretty satisfied, knock on wood.

2005 almost 110k miles, only problem I've had is the sunroof and two times where the engine flooded itself overnight this season. Trying to figure out what's causing it

Mileage Update

It's been a while since I have provided a mileage update, but my 2004 X3 turned over 140,000 miles today. I've owned it now for 5 months and it continues to impress me how good a vehicle with this kind of mileage can drive. I've now changed all vital fluids except the tranny which I not inclined to mess with. The tranny still shifts very smoothly (much better than all of my past Toyota, Honda, and Acura vehicles. So far, it has exceeded my expectations.

I think the key to longevity is keeping up with routine maintenance. With a BMW, it means exceeding the factory maintenance schedule. It also helped that this vehicle was a one owner unit who understood this fact!

I couldn't agree more. In my opinion BMW's get an undeserved bad rap for dependability. I think more often the problem is that they are under-maintained.

Another thing to consider is that they hold their value so well that they don't make it to the junkyard as quickly as other cars. Junkyards are full of unwrecked "cheaper" cars but you rarely see any unwrecked high end cars in one.

So instead of scrapping a BMW when the engine or transmission lays down on you. You have it fixed and tell everybody how much it costs.

My 05 has flooded a couple times too. Every time it was starting the car to park it in the garage overnight. From what I've read it is not uncommon when starting then stopping quickly (even from other manufacturers) and just something to live with. 78k miles and has been pretty solid

Over 114000 now on my 2007 X3. Should be using it less now that the Z4 will be back on the road. Spring is here!

Wishing you the best with your new ride, sorry you're leaving us!

I'm hoping to keep my X3 long enough that in another 12 years or so I'm crowding 200K+. Good to know it can be done!

I will be over 200k within 3 years at the rate I am going!

Probably trade in a couple of years, though. New X3? Not sure yet!

my first gear shifts rough sometimes when its cold out...idk if my tranny fluid was ever changed...i have a 2004 x3 with exactly 138888 miles on it...should i change the tranny and differential fluid? or keep it as is because i heard its not good to change if its never done before at such high mileage.

Hit 200.000km

For the Brits and Americans, this may not mean much. However, I passed the 200.000km mark today in Caswell County, NC on my way to VIR (hopes of doing the open track session were ultimately dashed, don't get me started).

Still an exciting car to drive, and often still the leader on two-lane overtaking and interstate manouevers . Reading about the transfer case failures on this board has me worried; I hope it'll last until I get the fluid changed again this summer.

Just hit 87k on my 2009. Still going strong and STILL original front pads and rotor's.

Only new issue to report...and it is minor...is the passenger seat mat is acting up again. Replaced once under warranty at 30k in July 2010. Will ask dealer to cover again as less than 2 years on a part is unacceptable.

This was a week ago so quite a lot more have been racked on but the number sequences are pretty cool and not.

Sorry about the blurriness of the picture. Just took it quick without looking so I can keep my eyes on the road.

Just turned 130,000 in the 2004 X3. I have the original valve cover gasket which has just started leaking slightly, but will change it soon. Still running great otherwise.
