Traded in the X3 for a brand new 2012 X5 35d.
It was time to say goodbye. Went to start it and nothing. after 15 minutes of trying it cranked up. So got a really GREAT deal on it. It was a great car, and had a great life on the beaches. After 122,900 she was very loyal. Just wanted to post my final post on the everlasting thread of the final miles. Thanks for all the advice on this forum. |

New battery, and recently had its full maintenance and tune up last winter. We have been noticing that it has been having problems. I.e. RPM needle moving up and down randomly on idle, radio was starting to show issues, randomly not starting, needed new tires, and brakes, lag on take off in first gear (would press the gas pedal and it would just sit there for a few seconds), and we just recently rescued a dog so the extra room in the X5 was a big plus.

Hopefully the X5 works better. That is my plan too in a couple of years.

Wasn't all at once. They would come and go, and some were building up.

It had a small fender bender on the front driver side so that lowered the value. |

Continued report on my 2009--105,537. Just got back from LA...26.7 round trip mpg and no issues to report. Six month avg mpg is 24. A valet at a Beverly Hills restaurant complimented my new car and then I pointed out the 1 in front of the 05,000 milage. Needless to say he got an extra tip.
She continues to perform flawlessly as she did since new. Last edited by x3brian; 12-13-2012 at 07:56 PM. |

My 2007 3.0SI with AT just turned over 130000 miles this morning on the way to work.
So far, so good. I will be changing diff fluids again in the spring, transfer case and AT fluids again in the summer and need to replace the brake pads and rotors in the spring. It has really been pretty trouble-free so far. With the exception of the rear door vapor barrier, nothing but normal maintenance.

109k. No issues.
New Bilstein hd shocks and struts are ordered and will install those next month. |

Just checked mine....
103,875 miles and still going strong. Still on the original brakes. It's the most trouble free car I've ever owned. |

132000 on mine now. Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'!
Not original brakes on mine - replaced under warranty due to warped rotor. But I do have close to 100k on new pads and rotors!

+1. I got almost 100k out of my front pads and rotors. I MADE them change them under the maintenance plan....but they sure didn't want to

My front pads and rotors have gone over 100k mls (161.000km) and do not need replacement yet. The rear pads were replaced a few months ago but the rear rotors did not need replacement either.
I racked up an inordinate amount of mileage the last month, between driving to my parents' for Christmas, company training, and the fact that I live too far from my close friends which means weekend commutes to various parts of NC. The X3 is showing over 146,350mls (235k km), roughly 11k km in the past month alone which is ridiculous. I'm also impressed as to the durability and build quality of the vehicle as a whole. Anyone who lives in the mountains knows that mountains are hard on cars, and while I don't live in the Rockies, my 2,5 litre engine sees a lot of work and so does the gearbox and transfer case doing hard duty up 6-8% gradients. The automatic gearbox is fantastic at adapting to changing gradients and driving styles (I love it when it gets real aggressive and holds gears to redline, and downshifts early under braking......) and the brakes and steering are crisp as ever. Well, I miss the summer tires but hopefully I can mount them back in 6-8 weeks or so. Last edited by AzNMpower32; 01-22-2013 at 04:59 PM. |

However, I'm very frequently in Western NC which has weather and climate closer to that of the Northeast given its elevation. I've already found the benefits of that once, so although there's many days where I feel silly with snow tires, many nights are below 7°C anyway so its worth it. Started this morning at -3°C in the Upstate, I think WNC was closer to -9°C so it does get cold there. |

122k, coolant expansion tank just cracked and sprayed all the coolant everywhere. ~350-400 dollar fix from bmw. Since I live in an apartment i decided to go ahead with the dealership. They also told me the oil filter housing is leaking from the bottom, I'm pretty sure I saw a DIY on the forums somewhere, I wished the TIS was still up at spaghetti coders.
