eBay Hardtop silliness

Someone is attempting to start a hardtop auction on eBay with an initial price of $2000. There is no mention of a mounting kit, so that would be another $250-$300. See http://cgi.aol.ebay.com/ebaymotors/w...ADME:B:SS:US:1

If you'd rather buy new than used, people have recently gotten $1950 quotes in LA for new tops including the mounting kit.

Bought used for $1100 and $250 for install kit

It only makes sense to purchase a used if you can pick-up and it's the right color. I was lucky to find a used that was the right color. 97 Bright Red. Now I have to paint it white, so I can use it on both cars. The 2001 is Siena Red. Any opinions on a color that would work for both?

Need help on part number for a part of the install kit

I lost one of the bolts for fastening the plastic bracket cover on each side of the rear hardtop mounting brackets. the brackets look really ugly without the plastic covers!!! Gave dealer the kit number for the install kit, and they didn't have a clew on how to find individual part numbers in the kit. I showed them the bolt and the parts guy just laughed! The same thing happened on a part I needed for installing the roll hoops on my non-Hk 97. BMW couldn't even help! I eventually spent $550 dollars to buy a complete roll bar install kit, so I could get the $13 part number. I then order the part for $13!!!, and sold the roll bar install kit on e-bay. The funny thing was that the $13 part was airfreighted from Germany, as they didn't have in the US, and it had been 2 weeks since I ordered it! Why doesn't BMW have part numbers for all these kits? can someone help me with this bolt number? Do I have to spend $250 to buy the whole kit to find the number on a $2.00 bolt??????
