Angry DAMN!!! Valve caps stolen

I was just out washing my wheels, and as I went to clean my second wheel I noticed the valve cap (BMW Roundel) was gone. I checked the other two wheels, both gone. So they stole 3 of the 4 caps. So, they lasted me a year.

I am about 99% sure they were stolen last night at the movie theater. It is a 20 screen megaplex crawling with pre-pubescent children and the parking lot is full of r*ce rockets. Thieving children I hate you

I remember someone, maybe 'Kubi, told me to the movies were a place were they are prone to theft. Oh well.

I once found a set that had little Allen screws on the side that would make it harder than just twisting them off... but I can't find them now.

I have seen those lockable ones before, but in all honesty, if someone were to steal them, I would rather have the caps simply screw off. I wouldn't want someone pulling away haphazardly and kick my car because they would not come off.

Remove your valve caps whenever you leave your car (not in your garage).

Sounds like a PITA, but hey, they were with you a year!

WTF are you doing going to a movie if you have pneumonia?

I think I will start doing that when I get a new set, or at least places where I think they could be swiped.

I just needed to get out of the house, been stuck in here all week. Plus, I thought it would be nice to share my germs

It happened again

Two months ago I bought two more sets of Roundel valve caps, one to replace the ones on my coupe, and one for the 745. Well, the ones on the 7 were stolen. It happened sometime within the past two weeks, I really can't make any guesses as to where I lost them. Oddly enough, three of the four were stolen, just like last time

So as it stands, I am down two valve caps. I think from now on I will not buy anymore. I really don't want to get paranoid and take them all off in every parking lot I go to. It's not worth it. I give up

I feel for you. My valve caps lasted a whole 60 minutes. Between the time I picked up my car from the dealership and drove to Chilis for lunch they were stolen by the time I came out.

Somebody stole my valve caps last week. I just had the regular metal ones that came from the factory. They lasted two years, so I'm not too upset...I think it happened at the mall. I bought a set of Roundel caps to replace them. If they last as long as the others I'll be pretty happy. If not, I'm going to buy a set that needs the key to be removed...they have them at my dealership but I also saw them in the Bavarian Autosport catalog.

I got a set of "theft deterrent" caps at BMW. They use a special tool to screw on and off. Without it, the whole cap just spins.

I'll post some pics later this morning.

Well, it took 9 months, but someone finally stole my value caps. What doesn't make sense is, they only took 3 of them? WTF is up with that?

Ah I love The State of Jefferson!!

I still have my little Roundel ones I bought back in 99... Once I had the tire people forget to put them back on... But when he found them in his pocket he drove over to my office and dropped them off... I do lose my tenna topper every once in a while but since I have about fifty in reserve I don't mind spreding them around.... Although the toppers are RoadSpam ... hmmmm maybe I need to make up some Bimmerfest ones...

That's a good clue. Whoever's stealing all these caps must be in elementary school!

I knew kids that would steal them off of tractor
trailers and off anything that looked nice. They
would then put them on bikes. I bet theres a good
chance that they are little kids. what a shame

What's wrong with plain metal OEM ones? I like the understated functionality. I think they cost about $1.50 for a set.

I'm glad they use those. Someone said at the track, they saw the cheap plastic ones melting from the heat.
