Good morning Festers. Today's word is "unconscionable".

Ex: "The unconscionable acts of the dealership in question doomed their business as they displayed an unforgivable and immutable lack of customer service and plain decency".

Oh, is a customer upset at you and you are in the service business? SUCK IT UP boys, and soldier on.

Speaking of ordering, you really should consider doing ED if it is at all a possibility. You would never forget that experience of doing 150 on the autobahn or driving through the mountains.

Get real.

First of all, call it the right thing. Slander refers to spoken communication. "Libel" is the one that applies to written communication.

So now that we're talking about libel, you have to realize that truth is a valid defense against a frivolous libel lawsuit (thanks, SJK, for pointing this out). If I call a dealership "dingy," and I can come up with some opinions about it that are based on factual interaction with the dealership, then their case would have no merit. Comments about broomsticks and dinginess, therefore, are not even close to grounds for a libel suit because both parties could spin the term. A libelous comment has to be false, malicious, and specific. For example, "BMW of Oz sold me a 3-series with rotting pig carcasses in the trunk, and then invoiced me for Pork bellies at three times the fair market price on the Chicago Merc. When I called to complain, then offered to reduce the price they were charging for the dead pigs. They suck." False, malicious, and specific.

Not to mention that "slander" and "libel" statutes are violations of the United States' 1st Amendment.
Glad to have someone point out the definitions of slander and libel. Saintor seems to have stirred up the pot around here.

I know, it's been 8 months for me but since I've participated in the deliveries and trips of others it's been not so bad.

Are you referring to Adrian's delivery. I saw that. I missed the Committees's punishment after Adrian violated the 12 hour rule. Rumor on the street is he had to hand the car over to the dealer upon redelivery. But I'm sure that's just an urban legand. The Committee could not be that creul -- could they?

Absolutely true. The first thing I did was to Google and search the forums on my local dealer.

I had a similar experience with my Ducati Dealership once. I left my bike on consignment and they sold it and it took some posts on the DucatiMonster.org to get things sped up. http://www.ducatimonster.org/forums/...an-update.html
He also had printed out my 12 pages thread and threatened me with the slander/liebel suit!
Ducati North America had contacted them about my posts and I too was not welcomed there anymore. . . but DNA hooked me up and treated me right.
The dealership was closing their business and I got scared, and I mentioned their name.
Needless to say, I became famous among the Ducatistas everywhere. . .
When I walked in my alternative Dealership to have my 999 serviced, one of the sales guys asked me if I was the Jansta from the board. They waited on my hand and feet. Also helps when you're a chick!
BMW is known for their excellence! Be excellent or get out of the business! I'm new to BMW's. Have always been a Mercedes girl, but I switched. . .
My dealership here in GA is great. Our sales person is awesome! If I could give him a 10 I would and told so to the guy on the phone during their review.
I'm having the thrill of my life so far! It is the ultimate driving machine. . .

I also checked out the dealers I was talking to before getting serious with two of them. And the two I got serious with weren't the ones geographically closest to me....

We went back to the same dealership several times. Our sales person was the one who sold my boyfriend his Z4 years ago and every time we stopped to chat with him, he was as courteous as could be even though he knew we weren't ready to buy. . . basically wasting his time, but when I was ready, it paid off. Negotiation was fantastic. I'm extremely happy with the service I was provided with.

If you have an existing relationship that is good, definitely start there. In my circumstance, the sales rep that sold me the 2006 M3 moved on to M-B territory and the replacement sales rep was too much in love with the dealer's inventory (deal & discount for repeat business were not in their dictionary)... especially during a recession. So, I basically started out from scratch looking for the E93.

Who do these idiots think they are? If their sales department actually treated you as you say, they should be firing some asses and re-training the rest on how to treat a customer.

Don't they know that now their name will be plastered ALL OVER THE INTERNET anytime anyone searches the name "FLOW BMW" including this page telling the world what a bunch as idiots the GM and his cohorts are?

I wouldn't buy a freakin' key chain from that dealership. They should have offered you free detailing for life just to regain your business, considering the poor experience you had. It was so bad you did exactly what consumers do when you are not satisfied... you took your money to another dealer.

Here's an article about Flow BMW in a rip-off report:
Flow BMW misrepresents condition of used vehicle

Here's a great idea. Everyone who reads this should go to this link: Contact Flow BMW and tell them that you will steer clear of their dealership, AND tell anyone you know to do the same. Keep it short and specific and professional. (vulgarity and hate mail will only be ignored and not take seriously.) In the required fields just use your initials if if you do not feel like giving out personal information. Flood their mailbox with the same message.

Here's what I wrote:

I just read how your GM badgered a customer for posting his poor experience at your dealership on a BMW forum. Maybe you should spend more time improving your customer care and less time badgering someone for stating an opinion. I will be sure to steer clear of your dealership, and will urge everyone else to do the same.

This thread comes up at the top of page 9 on a Google search for "flow BMW." Not bad at all for a thread that has been in existence for less than 24 hours. Watch it move up to page 8... page 7...

Don, do you see where this is going?

I lived a good portion of my life before the Internet became commonplace, it really amazes me even to this day. I wonder if it will be a blessing or a curse? Perhaps a situation like The Matrix or The Terminator isn't so far fetched. Sure we may scoff at those notions, similar to the way hundreds of years ago people scoffed at what we consider to be basic scientific principals today. This thread further proves to me the theory that Man's biggest threat is, himself. What a shame because we could achieve such greatness if we could work on eliminating war, violence, disease, poor customers, poor customer service and 2007 BMW 428i Coupvertible's® with Platinum Bronze Metallic, Cream Beige Leatherette, CA, Steptronic, iPod, Sirius, Trophy Wife, Beach House, Rolex and most importantly the Status Package.

I'm sorry, what was so confrontational about that? I met the lady in person, we all took a test drive. She offered to let me take the car home to dinner or whatever, which I thought was real nice of her. I declined & went home. Did my spreadsheet, called her, made an offer, got laughed at, never went back.

It's not like I called some random person outta the blue DEMANDING Invoice + $1k. No. I went to see the car, talk to the CAs, etc... It was a very pleasant, polite conversation but ultimately, they took me for a total idiot who knew nothing about ED or what a ZSP means.

Re: the car washes. The car washes are free and are offered to any BMW owner regardless of service. That's why it takes 3 hrs to get your car washed over there. People pull up directly off the street, leave their cars in a long line & go on their merry ways. I also felt bad about getting my car washed at a dealership where I didn't buy my car from. That's why I CALLED THEM IN ADVANCE to ask if that was ok. The receptionist said, "Sure, man, why not! Come on over, get your car washed, hang out -- NO PROBLEM." Ok then.
