06 e65 - Problems with Bluetooth pairing

First, I'll begin with "I've searched as many forums and threads as possible before posting this", in case this is somehow redundant with what's out there.
Basically, I've been unable to pair my Blackberry 8700g with my 2006 e65. As far as I can tell, this boils down to:
1)I'm missing a step (my process is to turn the car on, set my BB into bluetooth search for device mode, it finds BMWXXXXX, and than I enter the PK from the card that came with my car and receive "Unable to pair with BMWXXXX)
2)my phone is incompatible
3)my car possibly needs a software update
4)I'm possibly using the wrong passkey (despite the fact that I did find the card with it printed on it with the instruction manual etc., (although if I could figure out how to locate the "tcu", I'd gladly verify that I am in fact using the latest one--assuming it didn't involve pulling op half the trunk panel)

The only (or primary) suspect thing about this pairing process is that when I look at the BMW 7 series pairing video the BMW website, when the driver goes to the Settings screen via iDrive, they have a Phone menu beneath the other choices (Vehicle, Clock, Language, etc.,). Where as with my car, there's no Phone setting beneath screen.

Any ideas? Or merely carry the car to a dealership and ask them to look into it?

Select your series model

Pairing Instructions:
To turn Bluetooth ON, Click Options ->Bluetooth ->Click track wheel-> Click Enable Bluetooth.
1. Click Options -> Bluetooth.
2. Click the track wheel and select Add Device. The Select Device list appears and lists
Bluetooth enabled devices that are in range and available to be paired.
3. Select the name of the Bluetooth enabled device with which you are pairing. The Enter
passkey for dialog appears.
4. Type the passkey to authenticate the Bluetooth enabled device. Type the same passkey
on the Bluetooth enabled device to which you are pairing.

Before you try anything, it helps to know you have the following :

Thank you. I actually was able to get it work this morning finally. It turns out that I was using the wrong passkey (there was another card buried in the literature). It was frustrating, but at least it was a simple fix. Sorry for the bother for such a noob question.

Mein Auto: 2006 750li
Hi BMW tech, I am wondering if you could help me with a similar problem, I have the bluetooth option enable in the vehicle section. I have my PDA phone set to discoverable, however it won't prompt me to pair my phone. Also I cannot see the phone option in idrive same as above screenshot. This is a 2006 750li. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

New software

I purchased an 06 750i in June and it wouldn't pair with my Blackberry 8800. In fact it wouldn't recoginize a phone signal at all. I checked around and was told I needed to buy a new phone that was on the BMW list.
I took the car into the dealer for a rough idle issue. They loaded new software to correct. The car recoginized my phone immediately and has worked fine ever since.

if you are not sure what is your pin code

In your trunk left side panel needs to be removed there is some kind of modul or some other kind of electronic thing located by logic7 with a white sticker on it.On that sticker, there is a lota numbers look for P/K####.
