Same thing happened to me recently but the lights when out and stayed off after shutting the car off. A month later they came back on and stayed on for 2 days. I cleaned the two front speed sensors/pulse generators today and they are out again. Give that a try.

Sounds like you've got the dreaded ABS module gremlin....I'm currently a member of that club...need to get that addressed, but other things are priority now....mine have been on for 3 weeks. They come and go, but I know I need to pull the module and send it to module masters for a rebuild. $330 if I remember correctly.

Probably not the ABS module. Replace the front right speed sensor/ABS impulse generator, which is usually the culprit in cases like this. Do a search and read up on numerous discussions on the issue. If your speedo, tech, etc. also stopped working, it would more likely be the pricey module, but this sounds like a classic bad wheel sensor. If so, cheap, easy DIY fix.

Waveho... where exactly can i find the sensor on the car? is it clearly visible once you have the wheel removed? Or will i have to take off the wheel liner to get to it? thanks

The sensors are located behind the hub, held by a 5 mm hex screw. They are magnetic, so just wipe them with a soft cloth to remove the debris and reinstall them.

See this thread -- same problem here and I'm about to replace, aided by helpful info from Waveho. Note -- stealer wanted $138 for the sensor!
