stalls when stoppong

Hi, I have a 82 320i and it stalls when I stop. I replaced brake booster and leaking rear brake calipar. Replaced throtle body and just rebulit the head. Is it a vacuum leak? running out of ideas. It does seam to run better when warmed up. At least it doesent stall at every stop. When I sit in the driveway and pump the break and or clutch car doesn't die. Any advice is welcome this is my first BMW

Just had the same thing, my oil dipstick wasn't in all the way. A bad oil filler cap could be it too, at any rate it sounds like a vacuum leak to me!

If the dipstick or oil filler cap are not properly applied the engine will likely not start at all. I have had my engine running and foolishly went to check the oil and the engine suddenly died.

What is the idle set to? Books say around 850 but mine will consistenly die at that speed until it is warmed up, and even then it would still want to die.
