7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

Question Power Steering Pump Removal

I have search high and low for a topic on removal of the power steering pump... I went to BMW online. it says remove one bolt and and one nut from the front and pull power steering pump out. I went to AllData it say the same. Throughout this forum every one says remove power steering pump. Well this weekend I attempted to remove my power steering pump , I remove the bolt and nut in the front (along with the lines), I pulled and pulled, I tried pry bar, still nothing. So I start looking closer, I don't see a nut or anything in the rear of the pump, and no one says on Bimmerfest that there is a nut or bolt in the rear of the pump.

Please can anyone comment on this, I am changing my alternator bracket gasket!!!

There is a rear nut/bolt to remove. I have an 2007 e65 and I had the same issue. It's in the rear of the pump itself at a weird angle. Besides supporting the engine off the mount, removing the powersteering pump was the hardest step for me.
