Coolant Leak after Oil Change

I took my car to firestone auto care, they changed the oil and now my 98 528i is leaking coolant like a faucet. I took it back to them, they said they didn't do anything and that it looked like it was coming from the water pump.

Does that sound right to anyone more knowledgable than myself out there?

Well changing the oil they wouldnt be near the water pump really, and these water pumps are known to fail quickly and dramaticly, it sounds like a coincidence

Check and make sure the coolant hose going into the thermo housing (directly in front of the oil filter housing - See Photo Below) is seated properly. I am guessing the monkeys at Firestone might have disconnected it trying to mess with the housing until they figured out how to do it - who knows. Maybe in the process of reattaching the hose it was not completely snug. Otherwise, I think the two issues are not related to each other and as Danny stated - just coincidence.
