LG Chocolate 3 - not loading address book

Just got LG's new Chocolate 3 (a.k.a. VX8560). Was able to link to car's Bluetooth, but the address book doesn't seem to load. I have 2006 E90 330xi. I assume to load the address book you need to select "A - Z" from the Phone Menu. When I do that it says "Please wait..." and sits like that forever. Being new to the BMWs and to Bluetooth, am I doing something wrong? Is there any setting on the phone or in iDrive that had to be activated first to allow address book transfer? Does the engine need to be running for some weird reason. Did anyone succeeded loading address book with '06 E90?

I checked and I can dial the numbers via iDrive, so that function works I guess.

Also, just checked Verizon website for Bluetooth compatible vehicles for this phone and BMW (2005-2006) is listed with full set of features, included the phone book transfer. Hmmm...

the phone book on my SE T616 does not load either. I have given up trying to load it. the Owners manuals is pretty much useless. Also, the BT keeps jamming my phone when I try to scroll through my phone's address book. A friend said that the car's system may need to be "Reset" ..Any advice will be appreciated.

I can't get the address book from my Palm Treo WX700 to load either. In my last car (no iDrive) I could use voice commands to program numbers individually into the car. In my new car (with iDrive) it doesn't seem you can do this. Oh well. I seem to kill phones every few months - I'll just make sure to get one of the BMW-approved ones next time!
