X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

X6 "M" Testing At BMW PC-Pic's and Vid's

Found the X6M testing at the PC Track here in SC.This tester looks pretty far along in the development process.Rear fascia looks production ready. This engine really sounded like a V10/V12.Very high pitch exhaust note.Much higher pitch than the TTV8 in the 50i X6.Will keep everyone posted on new developments. Thanks! It doesn't sound like the current M5/M6 V10. Perhaps a different exhaust system on a V8 and higher redline?

Too bad it was so windy that day, sure makes it hard to hear the engine. Those bells in #2 scared the crap out of me as I'm sitting here with headphones on and the volume maxed to try to hear the X6. I didn't know there was a M version in the making. That could verywell be my favorite current production BMW.

I've seen this thing a couple of times here driving around Detroit. Looks like bmw is diluting the M brand which is too bad...

I really like the looks of the X6. I just hope that the orange on the side mirror is a sticker and not the reflector.
