Mein Auto: want to buy 335xi coupe
Anyone Heard of This?

I ordered an '08 335xi coupe in July and it immediately went into production. Long story short, it arrived at port on 8/18. Anyway, yesterday I check the status on line and it says its at my dealership!! I freaked out but I was puzzled as to why I got no phone call. I call my CA and he informs me that he doesn't have it in his inventory yet, and that once BMW updates the tracking status to "At Your BMW Dealer", they have 3 business days to get it to the dealership. He says my car is probably on the truck and I should be able to pick it up Monday or Tuesday. Is this true or is there a chance that they do in fact have my car, but are fixing something that may have been damaged in transit (and he doesn't want to share this with me)? I would appreciate any insight if you've had a similar experience. Cheers!

Owner's Circle is pretty famous for NOT being reliable - it is not updated in real time. In addition, significant damage would be addressed before shipping the car to the dealership. Most likely everything is fine.

+1 on the accuracy of the owners circle status function. My 2006 M3 was listed as in transit to dealer for 3 days after I picked it up....

I have had my car since December 2007, and to this day, my car is still listed as being in transit.

It's been way off on every car I've bought. But, even knowing that, I can't help but worry a little anyway But you're fine
