I can think of a lot of words for this car but ghey isn't one of them.

That's hot. Looks like they took the rear of the current 6'er and popped it on the f10. I like it.

I think that's one of the best @$$ shots I've ever seen. If it looked like that from behind I'd love it.

Mark my words: The F10 will have a big following. Go look at the old forum posts when the E60 was spied/coming out... everyone called it garbage, saying it looked like trash. Then you get the "it's growing on me" threads then you get the "Just ordered..." threads haha. I think its obvious if you look at history. I don't think stunning designs are well welcomed at first. We'll see I guess!

Love the shot from the rear, I imagine the tailights will be tweaked from those, but the lines look sweet. If it's slightly smaller that would be good with me, the larger it gets, the heavier it gets and handling suffers.

Does anyone know when exactly this will be out? Will it be at the end of 2009 or earlier?

That's still hideous. Sorry. Especially the interior. The back of the E60 wagon is not bad.

I wish I could stand the current E60. I'd love to have the 535xiT MT as the family wagon. But I simply cannot get past it. Here's hoping the F11 looks half decent (however it winds up looking). I'd get one right away.

Sorry would have to disagre... the e60 is one hot momma... dealerships here are giving huge breaks on it amidst the financial cloudiness and bmw is also suffering (after layoffs) and are offering huge savings to clear the inventory thats sitting at various ports...

Perhaps the next 5 will look a little more like the brand new 7 as opposed to the 3 or any non-bangle generated design. Obviously there are those that like the current 5s but I have chosen to keep my e39 pending the next 5 series debut when hopefully BMW will produce a 5 more to my liking. While I have driven plenty of e60s as service loaners, I find them as well as many of the newer models to be cheaper in material and design quality, especially with the interior leather. Though currently disappointed with some of BMWs offerings I am hopeful a satisfactory replacement for the 5 series will be offered by the time I get tired of my e39 as it is my 4th BMW but still going strong.

I think BMW is getting away from their CLASSIC look that set them apart from all the other LUXURY CARS.

when will it come out?

anyone have any guesses, educated or not as to when the F10 will be introduced? my own guess is spring 2010 as an '11 model year. so, that is a year from this spring. but, i am really just guessing. also, regarding styling: new styles always take time to get used to. the e60 looked weird at first and did turn off many die-hard bimmer enthusiasts. styling is very important to bmw customers. they will work ahrd to get it right. i bet from spy-photos and speculative talk on these boards and other places there will be significant differences from what we end up seeing on the road and in showrooms.
as an aside, the x6 is appears to be a complete failure to me. an 85k, 4 seater. the actual application of that vehicle is a mystery to me. i would rather have a range rover sport.

I think the X6 made sense when it was designed. The market was pumped full of funny money and everyone was busy flossing. Now we really dont need it. We need the 123d.

It's due out in Europe for sale in early 2010.
We'll probably get official pics sometime in late '09, as it will likely be previewed over there at that time.
I would guess that the U.S. will receive it a few months later, as is usually the case.

It took three years for the current 5 Series to grow on me. Maybe this will be the same. It looks... dull. The tail is ugly/boring, and it looks like the current Accord all over to me. There's nothing sexy and appealing about it.

But, it's just a sketch. We'll see...

I love how you guys are giving opinions on something that has yet to be seen. Why not wait until it's unveiled before giving opinions?

Is this not an opinion? It's just conversation, which is mainly what car forums are for. I think most of us know it will not end up looking exactly if at all the way it does in the renderings but, it's all we have so far so we might as well voice our like and dislikes. Especially since I've recently learned first hand that BMWNA pays attention to what goes on on these forums.

I doubt the decision makers are BMWNA give a rats ass what we are talking about in here. Not that BMWNA has any say so whatsoever on the design of up and coming models mind you as I assume all design decisions are made in Germany. But sure if the need is there to give opinions on prototype designs that don't exist then by all means. I just don't see the point personally. I just wish they would hurry up and come out so I can get a good deal on E60's when the prices start to fall a bit more. MMmmm..

You are still here talking right? So obviously you feel it's not totally pointless.

I'm not saying they care what we think at all but, I do know that there are people from BMWNA that keep records of things discussed on forums and more than that (since I agree in this case it mostly likely doesn't matter at all) if we were limited to discussion of fact and technical details the forum would be a much less visited and more boring site.

If people want to discuss likes and dislikes of something a rendition of a future car whether it's from BMW or a 4 year old what does it matter?
