Independent service recommends in CT

I've got a 2001 540/6 that needs a bit of diagnostic work to figure out what's tripping the SES light as well as replace the valve cover gaskets while they're at it. Any recommendations for a good independent shop in the area around Stamford, CT?

Thanks.

The guy's name is george - BMWs are his life...
I used to take my 328i to him when I lived in stamford a few years back.

There's also another place in bpt -

He does the work on my 530. Good guy - qualified BMW tech with his own shop...

Trin,

Thanks. I pass by the Elm St. shop every day. I always wondered about it.

Imported Cars Of Stamford - George

I've used George a few times but I've stopped. First time, he had me waiting to talk to him for more than 45 mins while he had coffee across the street. But, he ultimately fixed the problem. He definitely knows BMWs.

Second time, he had some sensors replaced (I brought the parts). This should have been a 1/2 hour job. His man went in the office and made a 20 min phone call, then walked away from my car to do another vehicle for a total of 1hr 20 mins. George then proceeded to charge me labor for the whole time. I complained, to no use, telling him his guy was on another project. I paid in full, but won't go back there; he likes to overcharge, and his ego gets in the way.

His brother supposedly has a shop in Norwalk that also does BMWs; I met the guy - more humble.
