Resetting oil indicator light After Oil Change

Hello, just a brand newbie to this site as I just bought a used 2002 BMW 330i so I wanted to start with brand new oil, had oil and filter changed. Now it shows 25000 and the word inspection is this correct or should it say oil service or something to that effect.
THANX

You only need to HOLD the left odometer reset button WHILE turning the key to position 1 (Accessory). Keep holding the button for 5 or so seconds until any of the following shows in the display: OIL SERVICE or INSPECTION with RESET or RE. Release the button and press it again for another 5 or so seconds until RESET or RE flash. While the display flashes, press the button one more time briefly. If done correctly, END SIA should show up for a few seconds. All done.

this might not work on earlier model e46s such as 2001, in which case you'll need a reset tool. wiki should contain this information.

This will work on any mid-2000 forward E46.

What do you do with the paperclip that resets the inspection reminder ? I have a 323i built in January 2000 . I did everything on the inspection 2 following the Haynes manual but I still don't know how to reset the service reminder and the dash keeps flashing "inspection -300 mi" I've been told that the peake research tool is the only way to reset the reminders but if there's another way then I want to know. Those reminders are a good thing it's just getting a little annoying, especially knowing that the service has been done already. Thanks

I have a 323i with an 04/2000 build date and the reset sequence using the cluster knobs worked like a charm.

FWIW.
