What does the "Sport button" do on the 4.8 and 3.0 with Sport package?

Guys,

I test drove a 4.8 Sport on Sunday. It had a sport button underneath the transmission lever. What does this button do?

On my 535i Sport I also have this button, and it tightens the steering, improves throttle response and greatly decreases transmission shift time in manual mode.

On my test drive, I didn't have the time to sort this out, the drive was so short.

It's supposed to tighten up the suspension, but I honestly feel no difference.
It has no effect on throttle response in the X5.

It does eliminate body roll on mine specially on twisty back roads. It also makes the suspension firmer. If you like to drive (not cruise), it is a must have. Good luck.

When it's time to drive (not cruise), we fire up the M3!
Good luck!

The difficult part is to take the whole family in the M3. What do you do? Get divorced?

the button refers to sport suspension; push the gear stick to the left to enter sport driving mode for throttle response...

or see the exact same post at x5world that you created for more comprehensive resposnes!
