E39 (1997 - 2003)

BMW e39 2.2i 2002 unlocking just driver doors manualy

Hello lads, i have a small problem, when i bought my bmw i come back home and just lock my car whit a key (pockect key) manualy, i dont have a key whit a those buttons on it, i have just pocket key whit a light, and then i try to unlock and nothing was happening, so i just cut a back door window and press central lock button inside a car. then i take off the driver door panel and unplug acutator or lock wires and put then back, and form now i can lock a car but if i lock car whit that button inside a car i can unlock just driver door whit a pocket key. and now i dont know where is a problem, becouse all acutaros works no problem whit a central button inside thanks sorry for bad english if you not understand just ask again i try to explaine thanks

Just to cover the obvious: are you just turning the key once to unlock or are you turning it twice? It takes two to unlock all the doors from the drivers door.

Yes for US market, but it depends on the coding.

Side note: when you turn the key 90 degree (instead of 45 deg for electrical opening) the door can be mechanically opened even with a dead battery.

The lock does not react when you turn the key by 45 degree or 90 degree?

Does your key work on your trunk (boot or luggage compartment)? If not then you likely are using the valet key. I am not sure if the valet key enables unlocking of all the doors or just the drivers.

Yes i can open a trunk whit that key, and before i can lock car whot a key now i can lock but if i lock a car whit a central button i can unlock just a driver doors or trunk
