interested in buying a late model ('99) e36 M3...questions

what would i need to be cautious of? (gremlins, etc.)

would it be possible to buy one that is still covered by the original manufacterer's warranty? (reason i'm asking is i'd be interested in buying an extended warranty)

if not, should i probably look for an older one ('96-'98)?

any other words of advice?

Please check out the E36 M3 board HERE.

There are a number of threads relating to buying an E36 M3, problems to look for, and other advice. As for warranties, a '99 M3 that has been CPO'd will be under warranty until sometime in late 2004 to early 2005 (depending on it's original in-service date). The '98s that were CPO'd are coming off warranty later this year/early next year. But BMW dealer will no longer CPO any of these cars. You'd have to buy one from someone who bought theirs CPO from a dealer (making you at least the third owner).

Check out the link to answer your other questions and post any other unanswered questions in that forum. Thanks.

I just got a '99 M3 and it's under CPO warranty until May 2005.
