OP (Original Poster) PLEASE do a search for "AGM Battery" or "Battery Replacement" as this has been discussed, taught, rehashed, and basically just overdone. TECH, please dont leave us.

csmooth79 already gave you the answer, what more do you want? Search as he described and you'll get your instructions.
If you are that lazy that you want everyone else to search and post it for you then good luck trying to get any help around here. Take 2 mins to search and you'll get your answer. |

You think? Yous guys are hilarious. That was sweet though, it might just work. How can I walk away from all this LOVE? To both of yous and to those who appreciates my presence here (including moderators)........
SIB 61 13 03 Service Action to Replace Battery - Analysis of vehicle data has revealed that the battery service life has been considerably reduced on certain vehicles. This Service Action replaces the battery on these vehicles with an AGM battery. The AGM battery has a significantly longer service life. This Service Action involves E65/E66 (7 Series) vehicles which were produced from November 2001 to March 2003. AGM battery has a black case and the original battery has a white case Using the GT1, register the battery as follows: Select Diagnosis Select "E65 Series" Select "Function Selection / Service Functions / Body / Voltage and Current Monitoring / Battery / Register Battery Replacement" Select "Test Plan", and follow the on-screen instructions to register the battery. After the installation of the AGM battery, if a battery replacement is required at a future time, an AGM battery must be used. The battery is available from Deta-Douglas. Registration of the new battery is necessary, using the DIS/GT1 service function. If the new battery is not registered, erroneous messages (check control) may appear. If a new battery is installed, the "Energy Diagnosis" test plan should be completed prior to registering the new battery. When the battery is registered, the stored energy history is deleted. This may cause the vehicle to return if the root cause of the dead battery is not determined. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...716&highlight= Last edited by BMW_tech; 11-16-2008 at 04:37 AM. |
