E36 (Central locking) Fuse Location...

Hi.. I have a problem with my 318i SE ..The central locking wont work with either the wireless fob, or manually with the key...i'd like to know the location of the fuse for the locking system...i've looked at the fuses under the bonnet...all ok...have been told that its inside the car somewhere.....
Would really appreciate some help from you guys....

Thanks ....terry..

The short answer is, no, because there isn't one central locking fuse. There's at least five of them. #s 7, 28, 31, 35 and 45.

They're under the bonnet, next to the engine. Got a plastic cover over it with the fuse number locations cast into the plastic.

All the fuses are in the fuse box in the engine compartment. If you only checked the fuses visually, you need to check them again with an ohm meter. Sometimes it's difficult to see the open buss wire in the fuse. If they all measure good, then you might have an issue with the body computer.

No, there's an auxiliary fuse box in the luggage compartment and one on the left hand side of the dash behind the instrument cluster, but the fuses YOu need to check are in that fuse box in the engine compartment.

I'll get you a more current picture of it, since it's been cleaned up and painted while I did the gasket and coolant return tube replacements.
