Looking for a DIY car wash place in the Metro West area (Boston that is)

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a place to wash my car out and since my apartment complex is less than obliging (some crap about not having proper drainage) I was wondering if anyone knew of a place around here I could go to.

I'd go to a friends place but ... uh... you need to have umm...

Well, never mind, let's just say that I'm looking to do this independantly.

Z

Scrub A Dub Marlborough 216 Maple St (Rte 85). They have 4 self wash bays open 24hrs. Bring lots of quarters!

That's why you need to buy a house!

At these prices are you kidding? When the market dips I'm going to be stuck with a house that's worth 2/3 of the sale price. No way man, I'm not paying 300K for a piece of crap house in the Metro West area.

Scrub a dub in Marlborough huh, cool, I'll check it out.

Arrghh.... touch wood, don't say that. I just bought a house in Metro West. While its true you don't get squat for $300k, you can get something nice in the $400 range. I've been waiting for this real estate dip that everyone's been talking about for 2years now. In the meantime the prices have risen, so I figure since rates aren't likely to get much lower and I'm going to be staying in the house for at least 7-10 years I can ride out the volatility. I know what's its like to buy at a peak, I still have an apt that's worth significantly less than I paid.

Anyway, come wash in my driveway. Could you wash my car while you're at it?

Eh, I suspect that any real estate dip is going to come from rising interest rates...

A "cheaper" house at 7 or 8 percent really isn't much, if any cheaper.

Actually, that's probably a pretty good deal.

There is a scrub-a-dub right on Rte 9 in Natick!!! Eastbound side, right after the Rte 27 intersection.

mbr129: I drive by there every day, although I wasn't aware it was a DIY place, I went there once and went thought their automatic car wash, I didn't see a bay for a manual. Maybe I missed it.

SchwartzBlack: Actually, that does sound like a good deal

Yup, there is a scrub a dub on Rt.9, unfortunately it doesn't have the self wash bays. I use the automatic wash in winter to get rid of the salt/sand though. It has an undercarraige wash. The only places I'm aware of that have self wash bays are Lechmere car wash, Scrub A Dub Brookline and Marlborough. I still wash with buckets in my apt garage so I feel your pain.

mecklaiz: Hey, this sounds like a win-win situation, but you're gonna have to wait till I close and move in. The current owner probably won't take kindly to us using the driveway right now.
