Page 52 of your manual under the section "Transporting Children Safely" shows the position of the Child Restraint Latches. HTH.

Oh - sorry. I have two different seats for two different aged toddlers. I just use the seatbelt over them and they both fit (not perfectly, of course, but it works).

I'm sure the 05 645ci comes with ISOFIX? MAXICOSI has an ISOFIX base which works like a gem on the E60s and E90s (works with MAXICOSI car seats only of course). Not sure abt the 6er though, but will know soon enough as bubs will be arriving in May 09.

Good luck!

Places like Babies R Us will usually let you try before you buy. I don't know if it will fit, but I highly recommend Britax.

britax roundabout works

I just got a new 650i convertible, and I too have a toddler. While the car is already back at the dealer to be fixed, I did get a chance to install a Britax Roundabout car seat in the back in the forward facing position. I tried using both the seatbelt and LATCH, and found that LATCH worked better. The fit isn't perfect (the base of the carseat only makes partial contact with the 650i seat), but you can put some rolled up towels underneath to fill it in if it bothers you.

Hi everyone. New member here. Also trying to install a forward facing toddler seat (Maxi Cosi Priori) in the back. I can't find the upper tether anchor in my '05 645 convertible. Am I missing something? Thanks for your help.

no upper tether anchor in vert

I can't speak to the 645ci vert, but the 650ci vert definitely does not have an upper tether anchor (I confirmed this in the manual). The coupe does have the upper anchor, so it's the price vert owners pay for fun in the sun.

baby seats

bwavery1, I have a 2yr 8mo old who sits very comfortably in a Britax Roundabout behind the passenger seat. I usually move the pasgr seat way forward so that his little feet have some room. It's tight, but works for short little hops to school or to the store. Longer trips - we take the MDX.

Thanks for the input folks. It concerned me when many of the child safety seats I researched said if I use the lower latch anchors I must use the upper tether anchor. (Which of course I do not have in the vert) I installed the seat with the standard safety belt but I could not get a secure fit. With only the the lower anchors the fit was much more secure than the lap and shoulder belt. Read the specs carefully on the Recaro. The harness in the recaro is only rated up to 40" which is not very tall...

This weekend, I used the carseats. Two Britax Roundabout. My littlest (20 mos) got annoyed with the lack of foot room for her little legs. My eldest, 3.5 years was cool with it. He was more excited to point his toygun in the air (convertible).

I used the seatbelt to harness. Rolled a towel under the carseat to keep them level.
