bimmerfest.com has been pointing to the right IP address for a while now... time to update your bookmarks back to bimmerfest.com. I see people are still using the IP address in their links.

It's fine for now, but if they ever change IP addresses again, all the IP-based URL links people have been using will go dead. Also, if IPs are bookmarked instead of domains, it makes load balancing far less effective if they ever go that route.

It's a pet peeve of mine which is why it's in the Flame, but I can tell you it will be an administrative nightmare if admins have to mix things up in the back-end.

But that's just my 2 cents.

Problem is they're also using the IP address in their posts. 2 years from now, that 216.7.191.102 URL may no longer exist, so the person doing the search is going to hit a dead link.

You don't have to use the IP address in the URL's you insert in your posts -- just change them before posting. Since you don't need to follow them, everything works.
