^ Lol.

Here are some not-so-bad looking ones....seem to be Genuine BMW clear corners for the pre-facelifted sedan, note that it says it's for those built before 08/2001 and to call for other years.

Maybe he can chime in when he see this, but I doubt those are the OEM sets.

The ONLY thing I don't like about you car is the front corner light....that frosty plastic just reminds me of the cheap clears my buddies used to throw on their chevy pickups back in the day.

Ever consider getting some OEM looking ones like SolidJake's? I think it would seal up the looks of the front end very, very nicely. Or do they not make those for the prefacelift?
Thanks Jman!, if your ever in Socali let me know. Will go for a quick cruise. I considered getting the clears with smoked inside so they would go together better with the black paint. But I honestly just don't feel like spending money on my car anymore considering I'm getting a E60 M5 soon. I sorta like how the corner lights are because they fit in with the side markers and rear tail lights as well.

p.s. They are not the OEM set. This car came with orange lights.

Shot a few pictures with the crazy sky we had last night. I walked outside and I felt like I entered sepia.

Pics to follow in a few weeks.

Hope all are well.

Quick hood shot after I finished machine polishing but before I applied any wax. The car has 9 coats of wax on it now (1 x Klasse AIO, 6 x Sealant Glaze, 2 x Souveran). It's fairly shiny. I'll take a photo or two at tomorrow's Stanford Concours.

That sounds like a loaded day Cliff! I'd be sweating after the first layer, even using a machine. Looks fantastic

ALso dealt with the annoying intermittent tail light warning light by installing a parallel ground. Used a "tap" instead of stripping and winding. Took about 3 minutes per side. So far so good.

Wax needs 8-12 hours to cure between coats, so the wax went on over the span of 4-5 days.

My tasks for the first day were to wash, clay, dry, paint correction of specific areas with a Porter-Cable random orbital and Menzerna polishes (S34A w/yellow pad, PO83 w/orange pad), and an overall final polish (Menzerna PO85RD w/green pad). I use Klasse, so the first coat of wax is All In One applied with the PCROB and a green pad and removed by hand. The first coat of Sealant Glaze went on the car by hand the first day and allowed to cure overnight. The rest of the wax was applied by hand as well. Using a machine to apply the waxes I use wastes a lot of product and doesn't seem to reduce the effort required.

The next day I gave the wheels a coat of Rejex wax, and I detailed the interior of the car. Last year I took out the seats and shampooed the carpets, so that wasn't really needed again this year. I had already detailed the engine bay a couple of weeks ago.

Not all that great a photo, but it will have to do. The shadow from my friend's E90 Dinan 3 coupled with the low morning sun did this photo in.

FWIW, there are a few dozen other photos from the Palo Alto Concours d'Elegance here: http://www.coates3.com/gallery2/v/ca...26_paconcours/ This is a fairly huge event, but I made no effort to try to catalog it with my camera. All those Dino 246s did almost make me need a tissue though - the fixed roof 246GT is my all-time favorite car.
