Latest shot of the new ride. I'm also going to show the things that are currently wrong with it - that I intend to fix.

Issues to fix

This is a posting of most of the little annoying problems that I hope to fix in the next few months.

1) Soot on the tailpipe. It was much worse when I first got the car, but a Scotchbrite spiffed it up. This is a couple of weeks later.

This is the left rear inside that the dealer said he would fix. I guess he gave it to a kid, because this is after I scraped contact cement off the rear window.

Here's the right front pillar with much the same going on. I got some vinyl fake carbon fiber to try on all of them.

This is the driver door grab handle. I cleaned the top the other day, but when I went to shoot the wear behind it, I saw this. That just got cleaned up, but unfortunately that does nothing for the material behind it where the gray is worn off. I believe there is gray shoe polish, but I've heard of dyes for the finish too. Any suggestions?

Looks like someone already "repaired" the area just below the brake handle. I understand it's a 10 year old car with 2 previous owners. Again - Any suggestions?

Another area that might have been "repaired" or just needs it. I may also try the faux CF here, too.

And here's the standard limping grilles. I had already added zip ties to the middle and right side, but not the left. It's done now, and you can see someone else's use of the hot glue gun that failed. Now about that hood ornament.... The CF on on Ebay?

I suspect I will report the results in other threads (not here), but all in all, not bad for a car that is this old and has done this much. Everything else about it, I enjoy so far. The occasional fleeting warning light is fun when it lasts 20 seconds or so. Nothing solid besides that.

^^
The center console peeling and door handle getting dirty/worn like that is totally normal. Just happens to high mileage. My door handles have been dirty so many times and cleaned that there just smooth and flat now with no sign of that rough leather look lol. I should take a pic of it, it's kinda funny.

Exhaust- Just clean it with soap and water. follow up with a Mequires polish. Or buy new ones.

The arm you easily clean. Get either a steamer and towel to clean it or maybe 3M Upholstery cleaner restorer.

Eye glass holder - you can sand down and repaint or buy a new one. Someone the E46fanatics site did a DIY. Goggle it.

Front Grill - lol On my old E46, my mechanic got sick of it falling out while it was in the shop. He used a twist tie to keep them in. Or you can purchase new ones.

Back Pillars - That's the most annoying thing. My old bimmer had that problem. It's weird because no one sits in the back. Now my current bimmer is having that effect too. You can replace it for $30 a part. Or remove them and replace the fabric with something else. Easy DIY.

Here's what I was talking about on the door card, behind the door handle. The gray finish is worn. How to fix? I know there is gray shoe polish, but I don't have hopes for that. Eastwood and others have a paint/dye. Any suggestions?
As for the handle, you can probably see that Windex works just fine on removing grunge.

Another annoying problem is the corrosion (?) on the aluminum looking trim around the windows. No, I don't want to buy replacements. I'd like to know if scotch pads, Brillo, rubbing compound, or a similar mild abrasive will spiff them up. I'm afraid that the aluminum is clear anodized and I would effectively destroy that finish.

Sorry about these next two pictures. It's a classic problem that our family knows as black dog photographs. But you should be able to see what I'm talking about.

I added a trailer hitch last weekend for light loads. As I was hoping, the black hitch is nearly invisible, but a couple of the bolts were too long and cadmium plated. You can see their gold here.

A little bit of time with the cutoff wheel and some matte black spray paint has fixed that. The car was still up on the ramps with the paint drying when I took this. You can see one of the bolts in outline here, but neither with the car down now.

Only problem I have now is that the trailer is so small (40" x 48" bed) that the only time I can see it is in the side mirrors during a sharp turn. Oh flag boy!.....

Thanks for the welcome Landshark!. Just got her about 4 days ago, I was aware it had the premium package but thought it referred to stereo or some other feature. Thanks for the info. We are indeed yin-yang as they are identical you can be the light and I can be the dark lol

Premium Package is not the rims. You have 16in rims which is standard for the 325ci.

Premium Package incl.
8-way power front seats with 3 driver memory and seat positions.
Passenger side mirror shifts down when you go in reverse
Automatic rear-view mirror dimmer
Wood trim (optional) I have the Brush trim
Moonroof

yeah I didnt mean because of the rims, i meant we had the same rims. Same model and year, and the wood trim. I can see how that would have been implied, though.
