ceramic pads

Ceramic brake pads sound great, by Tire Rack's description:

"quiet, comfortable braking with minimal dust and reduced rotor wear"

What are the drawbacks? (I'm looking for something that works at least as well as OEM, with less brake dust. Most is street driving, with some autocross.)

The drawback is that they are not as 'sticky' as Hawk or EBC pads. In other words, not as much braking power. If you're autocrossing even occasionally, probably best to look at a higher performance pad like the Hawk HPS.
