Jet Black is the real deal. Like BMW.
Everything else is something just that. Something else.

Jet Black is like every other non-metallic shade...dull and boring

I like them both - these were our final colors also. We went with Jet Black - thought it looked sharper and that the sapphire, while nice looking, was more muted to us.
Good luck!

I'm assuming both colors are almost equally hard to maintain but which one is more classy?

Both show dirt, but the metallic looks a little better when dirty. Dings, small scratches, and the dreaded swirl mark aren't as noticeable on the metallic.
The jet black looks better if you can hand wash it all the time, keep it waxed, and avoid normal wear and tear. However, if you actually use your car in the real world, Sapphire is the way to go.

I picked the Black Sapphire Metallic only because there was no charge for it, so I said what the heck. I had second thoughts about it when I was waiting for the car to arrive. When I went to the dealership to pick up my car it was sitting out front and the car just shined in the light I knew it made a great choice I don't regret it one bit.

I'm just trying to argue against people who say swirls are less noticeable on black sapphire... well if they're noticeable but less, then what's the point really... ????

i like jet black but that is because i do drive one, i think either or is a good choice! i dont really like metallic as much but its still great! if your really game to wax and wash your car alot it will be great to get jet black but metallic is a bit more forgiving on dents dings minor scratches and light dust. jet black

Jet Black is out of control right after a nice car wash; however, the only way I recommend either Black is if you live in an uninhabited area. Because if you do not, then do not get Black. You have to keep in mind that just because you care about your car, most people don't care about theirs. They will hit the $@*% out of your car and all those scratches and dings will become extremely visible. It's up to you if you want to take that chance. Black is by far the nicest color though, in my opinion that is.

Well I'm not sure which way to go with this one as I think both look great, but when I was considering these two colors before I finally landed on Montego Blue my CA told me that they rarely ever get in the Black Sapphire because it just doesn't move anything off the sales floor nearly as quick as the Jet Black ones do. In fact for that reason along I would go with Black Sapphire as there aren't as many around then. I enjoy the fact that I have only seen a total of about 10 Montego Blue Bimmers around here versus every other one I see being either AW or JB. Either way you go though when a black car is clean they look absolutely stunning!

I apologize for the ambiguity, but what I meant is nothing looks better than a black car after a car wash

I don't like sparkles on my car so no metallic black for me, Jet black is the true black, it is deep, shiny, sharp and classy. Besides, metal flakes on black don't make that much sense to me..I mean the surface is already shiny.. Flakes make more sense on lighter colors, like grey, white, silver which are kind of dull so that those colors look more interesting when light reflects on them, gives those colors a little more depth.... Yes, they might help in covering some swirls BUT you will still notice them on metallic black, so what's the point? Black car means = tons of work to maintain on both sapphire and jet black, so why not get the the sharpest one??
