Question X5 Drivers dor and dead battery.

Driver door handle broken and the battery is dead. Does anybody have any idea of a good spot to apply power. I am current removing under body plasyic panels hoping to find a wire where I can apply power to open any of the other doors. Not ready to break windows, yet.

Just a tip to help us help you better...there is nothing in your vehicle information that you present that tells us which engine you have. This makes it impossible to give you and exact answer (really consider creating a signature that includes your model/model year/build date).

If you have the N62 engine (I have to use what I have since we don't know what you have), if you can reach the alternator or starter, there is a large cable that is connected to the positive side of the battery, then ground the other end and you may be able to get enough power to unlock your doors.

Good luck, not sure how a broken door handle (the only way into the vehicle when there's no electrical power) and a dead battery both got you at the same time.

(cable #1 in the diagram below runs from the alternator to the starter and is also linked to the positive battery cable)
