Who here is a member of the BMWCCA?

...and what kind of activities do you participate in? Just curious as I've probably met some of the local CCA'ers on here but didn't realize it.

I do a lot of autocross, some Columbia and MOCO socials and the occasional DIY among several misc. stuff. I'm handy with a wrench and usually can figure out stuff on my own.

Who else?

edit: if you don't have your location listed, give a general idea as to the area so others can recognize you.

After all, how many times have you gone to a meet and knew you know half the people there on-screen but don't know who the hell is who?

I am. I did some stuff with the E90 folks when I had that car--most in DC which is my least favorite drive. But you're a bit closer.

I am a fairly new member (according to BMWCCA standards), since 1995.
Few track events 1996-00, nothing since in America, few track runs in Germany and Austria.

IMHO the Roundel is worth the subscription cost alone.

You guys that don't participate really need to get involved. My chapter is one of the best clubs I've ever joined. Ever. Second only to my fraternity. It's very well run. Every event is just a blast! Go to the next autocross event. You won't regret it.

ditto for me. I do enjoy the magazine. I don't really get into all of the old stuff that much, but there are usually several interesting articles.

Some of the "old stuff" is far, far better than the "new stuff" IMO.

I am a very recent member (2006). I enjoy Roundel and went to some Octoberfest events when it was in Fort Worth. Other than that, I have not done much. I have attended a few local Z3 / Z4 club meetings, but that's a different group.

Any current or former BMW owner who would even consider buying a second needs to join if for nothing more than the rebate program.

Joined in 1999. We went on a weekend trip with the chapter that includes Winston-Salem back in 2000 and had a really good time. We might get more active once our daughter leaves for college.

I am a member...Roundel is worth the price of admission...best BMW mag out there. Rebate was icing on the cake. The group here in Austin seems a bit older but they still do some nice drives through the Hill Country (although a little slower than I'd prefer )

ffej and I will help lower the average age and raise the speed

GBauer, we've used BMWCCA resources to:
  • Scenic drives
  • Car Control Clinic's
  • Autocross
  • High Performance Driving Events
  • Social Events

Still working on how to use the rebate

I've been a BMWCCA member for several years. Got a $1K rebate on my current E39. I've attended only a couple events. I'm in the club mainly for the excellent Roundel magazine.

I've been a member for about 11 years. Very nice magazine. My club sends a small newsletter about four times a year. They have get-togethers, but they tend to be a few hours away. I'll have to go to one someday.
