My MC in Bimmer Magazine

First, thanks to Laidback for hooking me up with Zachary Mayne, the writer/photographer who did the story. And a special thanks to Zach who managed to somehow capture everything vital to Scatha's modifications, including my no-BS approach to helping her reach her potential.

I'm not sure when it'll hit bookshelves, but I've received a few copies in the mail so it must be soon. Zach's article is a great read and there are other good ones on the new M3 vert, an electric Mini and more:

Having been given the chance to drive his car at the airport event in December, I for one was amazed at how well the car is balanced and how well the many mods to the car work so well together. Such a huge difference for my Z4. Congrats !!!!!!

Am I the only one who see's the glaring error on the table of contents?

-And there are only 4 pistons on the StopTech front calipers (different piston sizes than the rear 4-piston calipers). 2 mistakes = damn good in my experience. More to the point, Zach understood the MC in stock form and why I modded it the way I did. He didn't fluff or cover up anything. Straight talk, with two typos.

p.s. Also, I often refer to the new M3 as an E90 (even though it's technically an E92). I think of the car's generation, which is E90, whether it's E90, E92 or E93. Same with the M5/M6; they are E60 generation. The Z4 is E85.

M3 sedan is a E90.

Although I still think you have a faded looking badge, I do understand the monotone look your going for. Congrats on making the mag bud Scatha is one great handling car, I know...I've driven it.

-Of course. But I don't want to post the high-res images until after the April issue leaves shelves. Seems disrespectful to the magazine to give it away for free while they are trying to sell issues.

What does "Scatha" represent? Is it a past GF or something?

I thought Scatha was a fitting name for my M Coupe, as it references the female tutor of Cuchulain (who shares much in common with Beowulf's tales) and that I bought this M Coupe to expose my faults and teach me about the art of driving. Also, all my cars are named after women (real or fictitious), and all three of my BMWs' names reference dragons. In this case, Scatha is the name of a mythical Babylonian creator dragon and also makes an appearance in J.R.R. Tolkien's works as the "long-worm" of the Grey Mountains.

-Yeah, it was before I got the ESS decal on the rear. The blower should finally arrive tomorrow and be installed (if all goes well) by the end of Friday.

-OOOO, you're gonna like those StopTechs I'm waiting on the blower right now, should be here within the next hour and a half. Then I'll inventory the package and bring it down to BMS. I'll try to take some pics of your car when I'm down there.
