It's clear that there is a fine line between ricey or not when you step behind a BMW. I was a rice rocket once. One of my reasons into switching to BMW was to leave the days of customizing way behind. Tuners is as far as I'll go. I even wanted matching Angel Eyes at one point but have grown to like the stock rings by now

IMHO BMWs are too classy of cars for ricer-like mods. Although I suppose you could turn your BMW into an monster truck.

THis picture alone should answer your question.

I've seen a civic with a similar combo and a big ass wing BTW.

Now that I have seen the PS I definitely say no to the wheels.

Mama said if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

Sooo…all I can think of is it will hide the brake dust better?

i think the PS actually looks better than i thought but i still would leave the rims alone. i think the 335 looks perfect with the 189 rims.

as for everything else, i think the tints and calipers would look good. painting the calipers will probably look tacky, but calipers that come red from factory might look really good with your interior. a lot of people on this forum dont like it but i was considering doing it to my car because i want to accent the interior somehow.

finally, leave the badges alone. BMWs are classy cars and i think changing the badges make it more like any other jap tuner. the blue and white roundel is envied and something to be proud of. would you paint an olympic gold medal red because it matches your furniture?

but in the end, if youre sure it'll make you happy then go for it regardless of what other people say. it's your car for a reason. enjoy it

let us know what you do

I think powdercoating the wheels is a great idea and I'm probably going to that myself.
It's weird that so many people are so opposed to making their car look a little different than everyone elses.
But I also say yes to getting the calipers done too so what do I know.
I would stop there but I think that those are things that shouldn't be considered "ricey" and over the top.
It's not like adding a giant spoiler or anything.

1)Tints: Are fine, just don't overdo it and come off with the limo or gangsta look.
2)Paint wheels: Get it professionally done. A good black powdercoat shop can do a good job on it. BMW sells OEM black 189 wheels and they look fine.
3)Red wheel trim: The "time attack" look does not in any way look good unless you drive an actual race car or a high end sports car like a Ferrari. If your car was black, it may be able to pull it off. But no.
4)Painting the calipers: They universally don't look very good on the stock calipers. I'd suggest you either get an actual Big Brake kit or perhaps just swap the rotors to Drilled rotors for a more subtle sport look
5)Black Roundel: I personally dislike them...alot. But its your car but it sends a message that only resonates with the modding crowd.

Tints would look great but I'd be inclined to leave the rims alone - I think they look great just as they are. Red brake calipers are a nice touch.

then to match with it buy the 335i emblem in black :]
to match even more i was thinking of painting my stock rims black, then put a little red trim around it, and paint the brake calipers red as well.
what do you guys think. here's a picture of it right now

so now just imagine it with black window tints, black 335i emblem, black rims with red trim and red brake calipers. it all matches in the end :]

what do you guys think?
If you do it let me know and send pics. I have the rims I was thinking of doing the same thing. Thanks -mike

Dang I want your car! Tint windows and paint rims black sure! Dont paint anything red, and dont mess with the bmw emblems unless you are crazy. Also why is everyone hating on civics? Dont act like you are too good.
