If you're a software developer, we are looking for 8 new devs to join our team. Check out the attached .pdf file to get an idea of what we are looking for. If interested, contact me in here, or for quick results, to my email within the attached document. Depending on your abilities, our Maryland office may also be a suitable location of hire, especially those with an active clearance.

A) We're hiring for a field sales engineer (Chem/Mech preferred) for water treatment products. Search Indeed.com.).

B) Here are some tips, born of frustration from the resumes I've received and interviews that I've conducted:

- if you wear jeans to the interview, you have dropped your chances of getting this job to 0.1% (two candidates did this.)
- be prompt responding to emails and phone messages, speak clearly and concisely.
- send a follow-up thank you note - email is fine, hand-written is nice, too
- Write each cover letter with a bit of text that shows you actually did some research on my company. Please show me that you at least looked up our website. Please.
- Don't be overly flowery with your cover letter. Don't tell me that you know that our company is the best in the world, and leads the industry, and saves puppies from drowning on the weekends. You know none of that.
- use a different email address than you use for selling guns on the internet, playing games on the internet, posting your drinking pics on twitter, and scoring Heroin (yes, all happened).
- clean up that FB and Twitter stuff that shows you are a righteous party rockin' machine. Resume goes in the trash in that case.

Then again, if I these tips are new concepts to a potential candidate, then I'm sure they aren't right for us, anyway!

Great post!
Good point.

I also look at LinkedIn and if they have TOO much activity there, it's a turn-off. Who has time to do updates three times per day on LinkedIn????
