HELP Miss fire.

2000 528i

I have a miss fire in cylinder six.

I start the car on a cold day for the 1st time and it miss fires enough where you can hear it and feel it after it warms up it sounds fine.

it will miss fire for months before it has a check engine light for a miss fire in 6.

I pulled number 6 plug and it looks blacker then all the other plugs... the other plugs have a brown look to them.

I swapped number 6 plug and coil pack to number two.


I know if the code is miss fire in 2 then the problem is coil pack or plug, but my concern is that it will not toss a code for another month will this harm my car?

and if there is still a miss fire in 6 what is the next step I should take? PLEASE HELP.

Oil-fouling on the plugs can also be one indicator that the CCV (aka/oil seperator) is failing, although I`ve never heard of it affecting just one cylinder....

If your CCV has never been changed, now might not be a bad time to replace it....one thing`s for *sure*, it`s GONNA fail, and when it does, it can do a lot of damage, including hydrolocking (and destroying) the engine....food for thought....
