Chiptuning 3.0sd X5
Just ordered my new X5 last saturday.
BMW X5 35sd Carbon schwarz with M sport package only i dropped the 20" 227 styling wheels and replaced them with the 21" styling 239 wheels. It has 286 Bhp and a torque of 530 Nm. It will be delivered in 3 months it has to come from the states to west-europe. In these three months i hope to find a answer to my question about chiptuning my X5 and if there are peolple who have experience with tuning the engine. Now i am driving a BMW M5 Touring but due to new work and the birth of my thirth child i was forced back into the SAV sector and the diesel again. So i am going back from 507 Bhp to 286 Bhp. Is there a possibility to chiptune a X5 and wath will do this to the engine, Bhp and Torque of the car ? |

Try X5world.com
There are people over there that have talked about it. I have a U.S. version of the 3.0 sd. Craig |

My experience is really good! I did a remapping that means reprogramming the ECU and now I have 335HP and 690Nm. As far as I know is totally undetectable and doesn't void warranty. The difference is quiet obviouse especially in 3d 4th & 5th gear. The company i did it was Hartge(Germany).
But I hear Zip Tunning is also good. (Netherlands) The cars pools amazingly and so far I only have issues when raced others with Porsche Cayenne Turbo and other beasts like ML AMG(different category) Anything else from a Range Rover Sport Super Charger, to any kind of ML ( of course not the AMG) is way back when racing.... I also have driven a 4.8i which I think it was a bit slower... but not raced so far so cannot say for sure. ( also I never race from 1st gear because I feel sorry for the car) so I cannot tell you 0-100 which by the way Hartge says around 6.5sec Now regarding consumption hm.... here is the big problem... as long as you don't speed I could say that its around a normal SD. But when I speed I see great numbers but yet not a lot compare to another 335hp car. that's all! |

My 3.0 liter diesel has an AC Schnitzer diesel power upgrade (from 218 horsepower, upgraded to about 265 horsepower, and torque up to around 560Nm). I didn't install it (previous owner did), but it does cost a lot of €€€. However, it also comes with a huge warranty.
A re-map is probably the best option and there is a company in Belgium that can do this with great results. The company is called Kempower. http://www.kempower.be/ Check them out. ![]() . |

Thank you,
I will try that. Is there a range of km or miles that a car must have made before tuning? By comsumation i am not worried, Now i drive a M5 touring wich drives 3 km a Liter and then i drive at 400bhp. When tou put it on his tale at 507 BHP you drive 1.5 km a liter. So the consumation doesn't worry me. i have driven a Q7 4.2 quatrro with 320 bhp and didn't feel much diference with the BMW X5 3.5 sd while the Q7 has a torque of 720 Nm |

As far as I know you can chip tune it at any moment. Its up to you. I know a guy who did it with 0 km and I did at 2000km Consumption is not that bad.. but not as good as normal.
go ahead and try them www.ziptuning.nl www.hartge.de http://www.lumma-tuning.de/ www.hamann-motorsport.de/ www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/ I would be very curious to see if there is any actual difference between all these tuning companies... |
