My wife and I used to do a lot of TSD rallying, and I must say we were getting pretty good at it. That was back in the days of my first Alfa Romeo Guiletta, a new 1960.

Now we are retired, and enjoying our Beemers.

However, yesterday we brought in our little 325 for a brake job (the warning light was lit) to our dealer, Anderson BMW in Crystall Lake, Illinois. I was absolutely shocked at what they wanted to charge me -- over $1200.00 !! With only 36,000 miles they claimed I needed four new disks and pad sets.

I done a lot of brake jobs back in my younger days, and looking at my disks, they didn't appear to be worn very much at all, and are not warped. It looked to me to be a simple pad change for the two front wheels.

Does anyone have experience with the cost of a brake job? Is the dealer trying to hold me up?

Thanks much,

Bill Flood

New to me e30

Hello all, I have recently aquired a nice 08/91 e30 cabrio and I'm dredging the web for info and friendship with like minded people. I am currently employed by the DOD as a aircraft mechanic on fighter aircraft so, difficult work is no stranger to me, I figure if I can sort out an FA-18, these cars should not be that tough to sort out. Talk to everyone at some point later on.

Hi Y'all. My name is Art and I own a 2004 steel blue metallic 330ci convertible. Probably the nicest car I have ever owned. I'm sort of new to the blog/thread environment. Hope I'm replying to the right thread for intro's. Sorry, don't have any pics, but I suppose we could fix that! Looking forward to being part of the community.

Hello all... I'm not new, but I'm not old to Bimmerfest. I have been using this website for years as a resource. I have benefitted so much from the use of this site that i wanted to give back to my fellow beemer alumni. The knowledge that is displayed on this site and the vast range of topics circulating on this site is unmatched. Trust there isn't (NO ONE) better; so i had to join.
