Hello fellow Bimmer drivers. I am new to this forum and really dont know how to use it yet. However my first Bimmer was a new 1973 2002 and I traded a 911Targa straight across for it, used Porche for new Bimmer! Kept the BMW for 17years until son had major accident in it but walked away. Still using BMWs 540i and Z-3 Have a detached rear window on the rear door of my gray 540i so will need some helpful instructions to fix. I usually do my own work on my cars as I enjoy the machine. Can't find my Haynes manual to fix this window.

Hi fellow Bimmer fans... I'm new to this site... I have a 1986 e30 325es that needs some work... and I have plans for it once it is in good working order... I'm 17 and cars are my life... I joined for advice and new ideas... just because I'm young doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing... it just means I'm broke.

Mein Auto: 2002 325i, 2008 X-5
Hello all from a newbie

Hi everybody. I've been an auto fan for many, many years. Significant cars have been two Alfa Romeo's, Triumph's, Mercedes, and now a 2002 BMW 325i with all options, and a 2008 X-7 3.0i with all options.

My wife and I used to do a lot of TSD rallying, and I must say we were getting pretty good at it. That was back in the days of my first Alfa Romeo Guiletta, a new 1960.

Now we are retired, and enjoying our Beemers.

However, yesterday we brought in our little 325 for a brake job (the warning light was lit) to our dealer, Anderson BMW in Crystall Lake, Illinois. I was absolutely shocked at what they wanted to charge me -- over $1200.00 !! With only 36,000 miles they claimed I needed four new disks and pad sets.

I done a lot of brake jobs back in my younger days, and looking at my disks, they didn't appear to be worn very much at all, and are not warped. It looked to me to be a simple pad change for the two front wheels.

Does anyone have experience with the cost of a brake job? Is the dealer trying to hold me up?

Thanks much,

Bill Flood

Hello

HI everyone,
I'm Victor from Chicago, I have two BMWs a 97 328I and a 89 325I. I'm pretty hands on with my cars but, I'm getting tried of taking them in to get serviced every now and then for something that's complicated, so I joined this site so I can get help and learn how to do it myself.

Hi guys, I've been around a while lurking.....but thought I might participate if that's ok? I have had over thirty BM's now, mostly E30's and have just posted a pic of my E28 M535i in the E28 section. I work for BMW Manufacturing as well, and restore older BM's from home as a paying hobby.

New to the BMW family.

BMW Enthusiast,
I'm new to the BMW family and want to express how excited I am to be a part of such an elite group of enthusiast. As of Wednesday, March 25 I fulfilled a life long dream and became the proud owner of a 2004 E46 ///M3. She's silver gray metallic with gray and brushed aluminum trim. I've included a couple of pics below but I'll post more in the next couple of weeks. With that said I look forward to getting to know all of you and picking your brains on what I can do to improve the performance of my ///M3.
Thanks,
BK
