Attention all new members

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here, and to the world of BMWs. My kids are nearly finished with college and I decided it was high time to spoil myself a bit. The Prius that I have driven for the last few years is sitting in the garage.....and I'm now the proud owner (for 10 days thus far) of a 328i convertible. Driving this car is like livin' the dream. The dealer was oh so right when he said, "A Toyota is dependable and it will get you to where you want to go. But driving will be an amazing experience for you in a BMW." I love it! Yet being a newbie, I'm clueless about so many aspects of my car. (Examples: I picked up my car in Florida and drove it to Illinois. What the heck is this dust stuff on the wheels? And why all of the sudden am I hearing a squeak when I brake?) I plan to be an active member of this site, and I'm hoping to become BMW educated!

I'm Philip,and I am now the proud owner of an e46 m3 which I literally just purchased about 3 hours ago.New to bmw's,drove a 2010 civic si for 2 years until I got rear-ended and car was deemed as totaled.
Decided to upgrade,and found this beauty on carmax for an affordable price.Look forward to learning about this beast slowly

Haven't posted on here since 2006--so I guess I'm still a newbie. Didn't buy back then on the new (at time) E90--but may this time w/ an F30 M-sport. Gathering data, facts, figures, lease info, and best person/CA to buy from w/ best deal. (Jon, Greg, Adrian are the tops I've read) My current lease is up in 4 mo. will be going from a VW GTI to a BMW.

Owned a custom 76 BMW 2002 and MINI GP 0411 for some time, so you can count me as part of the enthusiast crowd. I've worked hard and feel this is the right time for my 1st (new) BMW. I deserve it!!

I appreciate all this forum provides and look forward to interacting w/ its members. I have to just find some way for the numbers to work--

I am a new member and not sure how to gain advice on my bmw problem...help
The problem is while removing the radiator cowling to install a new water pump a sensor on the driverside of the cowling fell off. The wire attaches to the 2"x4" plastic sensor but I am not sure how to reattach it to the plastic cowling without a picture

Hello everyone, my x5 2005 ac's not working, i can feel a little cold wave on the driver side but passenger side warm air. Please advise..........

lol, welcome to the club!!! there's a ton of us without a/c, and the best option right now is to do a search through the forums. there's plenty of help thrown out there, but some of the most important things are to check:

1. A/C Compressor
2. Freon Level (may just need a recharge)
3. Leakage

with little information regarding your specific model, i recommend combing through the forums for your x5 in order to better diagnose your vehicle. you may encounter a forum thread with someone else who's experiencing the same problem, and perhaps something to remedy it. best of luck, stay cool!

Larry, what make/model? you may find a better answer searching the threads under a keyword (such as "radiator" or "radiator sensor"). best of luck.

Hello everybody, my wife wanted me to have her 2009 X5 4.8 idrive in exchange of another BMW sedan (model to be decided later). So, I'm driving it now and I'm loving it, I love the wide wheels and the power the engine offers. It's in Alpine White, in my opinion very feminine, so I installed a "bull" bar to make it a little bit masculine LOL! The warranty will expire next year, so I decided to join this forum to so I could be informed on the recalls, what to fix before my warranty expires.

I don't actually own a BMW yet . I was a motor mechanic for 18years (first job) & have done varios other jobs. But now the kids are grown up & all but one left at home, it's time to get back onto the tools, but on my terms . I'm after a project car & have always had a soft spot for BMW's. So, thinking of an E30, get myself a 318i & do a full ground up rebuild & this looks like the perfect place to get any info I might need & no doubt I'll need some info.

New to the forum, have a 2013 335i xdrive on order- Msport/EBII/6MT/DHP/CWP/Tech/18s mixed
This will be my 3d BMW, but my first "newer" one. I still have a 1974 2002 back in the States (miss my lil go-cart) and I sold my 1993 325IS before moving over here. Both are awesome cars and can't wait to get the new one...week of July 30th.

for starters i drive an 87 325e .. most durable-reliable car ive ever owned im currently finished putting in a brend new overhauled engine 2.7L most beautifull things ive every built...and that dam thing wont start no spark and no fuel and the starter works and the battery, its just not firing.. i hot wired the fuel pump and it works, so thats not the problem and i narrowed it down to no spark!! CPS? i dont know .. how do you know if the sensor is bad and is there just one? or two??? and how does the computer play the part in the firing??
