Perforated seats in 35d - good option?

I tried to build a 35d with perforated seats but without the active ventilation package, couldn't do it. I was under the impression that you could do this on the 35d as a no-cost option. Am I doing something wrong?

Those who have them, how do you like the perforated seats? Are they worth having?

I have them and are a must have in Florida. It hit 49 degrees early this am and prob. the only time (hopefully) I used the heat function through them. The perforated nevada leather looks cool too.

I have the ventilated seats, and think perforated leather looks much nicer.

I hate perforated leather seats... they trap odors and fluids, wear much worse than solid leather, harder to clean. I have them on two other cars, not the X5.

I would rather have the nappa leather seats. That's what I have in mine. I have the perforated leather seat option in my Lexus and I never use the cooling or heating. I have heated seats in my X5, but I never use them either...

I love the active ventilated seat in my 535 and really miss it in the M3. I am thinking about getting the X5d and will definitely include it as an option.

We had perforated leather seats in a 2003 745Li but used them possibly once or twice. On the X5 that should be coming next week we decided against heated seats because we use them maybe 5 times a year and paying $15/month extra is not worth for those few uses.

In the Midwest, it's hard to re- sell a car without heated seats...

I'd like to now why they can't offer perforated Nappa Seats on the X5. A mystery to me.

You can get the heated seats with and without the perforated...

The only item that requires perforated is the 'cooling/ventilation'...

On the narrow question (posed by the OP) he doesn't want ventilation- he just wants to know "how is the perforated leather"...

Since you cannot get one (perforated leather) without the other (ventilation package) the answers seem to fit the question.

If the OP doesn't care for the ventilation, then any answer that discusses the benefits of ventilation as a factor in the decision are off the mark.

Although I can appreciate people trying to convince him that ventilation is a good thing.

Frankly, if I could get ventilation without holes in the leather I would!

As previously mentioned I do not care for the ventilated seats, so I guess I don't have this option to think about. I appreciate all the replies.
