This is my first time on here and I've had a starting problem a few times this winter. I have a 95 325is and I thought it was the battery and the cold weather (reasons it wouldn't start). I drove up an hour on Monday night and went to start it on wednesday, it starts to turn over and then just continues to try. I tried jumping it seeing if a little extra juice might help, it didn't. I've read about the fuse box idea and starters but just wondering if anyone could offer any more suggestions?? thanks!

Welcome to the Fest!
So it cranks and cranks but never starts? Has it been raining? Could be a wet DME (ECU). The problem sounds like you're not getting fuel or spark. The DME controls this, and is independent of the starter motor circuit. Check out bimmerdiy.com or search around here for instructions on how to check the DME. Or, since you mentioned that you thought it was the batter, did you mean that it tries to crank but won't crank?

Also check the fuel pump and fuel pump relay.
