Z3 rev limiter

i was reading the past post's on rev limiter's but still aliitle unsure
the limiter will kick in if rev'ed high enough in second gear and it will kick in soon enough to protect the drive train??

The rev limiter is designed to keep you from spinning the engine so fast that pistons meet valves. It will kick in if you rev up; it won't help you if you downshift with the revs too high.
