My BMW Artcar/ultimate sharpie mod!

First off... I'm going to bet 50% of people are going to hate this .. but i'm ok with that. I did take "inspiration" from the "sharpie lamborghini" (props to him, this took me about 12 hours) , but I have been doing artwork with sharpies for a while so this isn't my first time at this (AKA don't try this at home).

I will do a proper photoshoot when my new wheels come in in a couple of weeks, but I know you all had to see this!

Yes.. I painted my car with a sharpie paint pen...and here are the pics to prove it and to keep people from thinking it is a vinyl wrap. enjoy and comment all you like.

It is not something I would want on my car, but I must say it is very well done and tasteful. Great work

Did you clear it when you were done. If not do you think it will hold up to the elements? Nice.

I love art and you are an artist. nice work, very well done.

I think you find that some people won't like it but most everyone is going to appreciate your talent. The roof does set it off nicely.

Fantastic... I think three could be some money in it for you. Someone's always got to the be the first and I could totally see this being a trend with cars in the future.

Well done

Your work looks fantastic!!! You've totally pulled it off, and the it works incredibly well with the roof. I've had similar ideas, but doing it on my interior trim. I'm really impressed.

Whether people hate it, or love it, one thing they can't do is ignore it.

ps. are you a tattoo artist as well?

No i didn't clear it because i didn't prep the paint under it. I think it will be fine since it is an oil based paint. I've tested it on a spare part a few weeks ago and its all goo. I have about 5 coats of wax on it.

Thank you very much! I do appretiate that!

Thank you and I figured some wouldn't like it. I thought about doing contrasting silver on the roof but I like it all black too.

I had thought of doing that too but I love my silver trim too much on the inside and I didn't want to "overdo" it.

I have designed some but no , unfortunately I have a real job. So i'm a "not so starving artist".

That looks incredible, but I'd also like to know how youre going to protect it. Maybe a clear vinyl or a coat of clear?

Okay, the more I look the more I love it. When you do that photoshoot, your car is becoming my desktop background, and I haven't changed my background since the first one I put up two years ago.

Question, in the big black fields, do you have any overlays when you went over it with the marker? you know what I mean?

I agree with all the positive comments made here. It looks great! It just adds to the BMW art-car tradition.

btw - did you know BMW is asking people to submit pictures of their 3ers? It's on the BMW website - http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...bmitYour3.aspx

Wow, outstanding... my first reaction was "not my taste," but the more I look at it, the more radical it looks. And I certainly appreciate the talent and work involved. Definitely follow up on tturedraider's suggestion, I look forward to having BMW giving you official props for your vision...
